On Wednesday 7th of December 2016 the following announcement was made at “Night of the Muses”, on the Laurelin server in LOTRO.
Every Christmas J. R. R. Tolkien wrote a letter from Father Christmas, to his children.
They were posthumously published in a book called “The Father Christmas Letters”.
“The Father Christmas Letters” was edited by Baillie Tolkien, the wife of Christopher Tolkien.
Saturday is Baillie’s 75th Birthday.
To celebrate a group of bands are holding a mini-festival.
On Saturday “Baillie’s Birthday Bash” takes place at the Methel Stage, on Laurelin, starting at 7:30pm GMT, 20:30 CET, 2:30pm Server.
This was all true except the bands were meeting to celebrate “Blula’s Birthday Bash”, for the *mumbles indistinctly* birthday of a very special hobbit lass, Miss Blula (A.K.A. Minimim, Sase and Verity). It was organised and hosted by Miss Belaya of the “Struck by Moonlight” band, to thank Miss Blula for all the help and encouragement she has given and for all she has done for the LOTRO music community.
So on Saturday 10th of December 2016 an expectant audience gathered at the Methel Stage.
Proceedings started with an introduction by Miss Belaya.
A hobbit “supergroup” then played “Happy Birthday” for Miss Blula.
Instant Play were then the first band to take the stage.
Having managed to evade the forces of law and order, next was Hooh and Whye.
All the way from the potting shed, next were Thorn and Roses.
All the way from Belegaer were Die Mondbarden
Next were Breakfast Club from Crickhollow.
The Little Wanderers then wandered onto the stage.
The Aleford Band entertained the crowd with their customary mixture of songs, music and avicide.
The Dulcet Tones played some dulcet tones.
Then A Rock and a Hard Place rocked the audience.
The Struck by Moonlight Growing Band then took to the stage, first accompanied by Miss Acorne and Miss Holly of Thorn and Roses.
The Struck by Moonlight Growing Band were then joined by the Little Wanderers.
The Struck by Moonlight Growing Band were then joined by the Aleford Band.
All the previous members of the Struck by Moonlight Growing Band then took to the stage.
Miss Belaya gave a closing speech.
The event ended with a
21 man 20 hobbit and one dwarf “Struck by Moonlight Growing Band ” giving an epic performance of Master Bruzo’s arrangement of “In the Hall of the Mountain King”.
Miss Hollyberye has recorded the event and published it on her YouTube channel.
I’d like to conclude by thanking Miss Belaya all her hard work organising the event and all the bands who took part.
